Modern Middle East Research Guide

Resources for Studies of the Modern Middle East

Finding Physical Books

Books on the history of the Middle East are shelved in multiple locations: predominantly the DS range, though content on particular themes can also be found in H ranges (HT-HV), and JQ.  All of those ranges are located on the upper floor of the library.

Although you will find that the physical collection is dominated by books either on terrorism or Israel, volumes on various Middle Eastern countries, cultures, and concerns are available.

Click any of links below to be taken to the page for some of the more recent volumes from the physical collection.  Otherwise, feel free to use the search engine on the Library home page to find books on your subject (click here for a pre-loaded search), or simply walk upstairs and browse the stacks!

Finding Digital eBooks

Finding useful eBooks is no different from finding specific physical books or journal articles: drop your search terms into the search engine on the Library's home page and let the system do the work for you!  For those who are just browsing, a few recent examples are linked below.  If you would like a painstaking deep dive into the catalog, you may simply click here for a preloaded search listing nearly 4,000 eBooks in our catalog that have to do with the Middle East.
