When researching a particular topic, it is always best to use the search engine on the Library main page to find books and articles directly related to your topic. However, if you wish to browse or research within particular journals, the following are some of the better options.

- Film & HistoryPublished since 1971, this journal focuses on studies of how history and film impact each other. How does history create film? How does film create history (or our apprehension of it)? What modes, styles, devices, formulas, conventions, influences, or inventions do they share or impose on the other?
- Journal of Cinema and Media StudiesThe field's flagship journal, published by the Society for Cinema and Media Studies, this quarterly periodical has been publishing scholarly studies of film and media since 1961.
- Journal of Popular Film & TelevisionExplicitly focused on popular culture, JPF&T publishes scholarly analyses of commercial film and television from a sociocultural perspective.
