We manage the library's database inventory and primary public access parameters in LibGuides A-Z Database List. Select "Content" and "A-Z Database List" from the "librarian login" menu.
We enable WorldCat access to articles and e-books in the WMS Metadata / Collections Manager. This is the OCLC knowledge base of collections available from digital publishers and aggregators. For Collections Manager training, log into WMS staff interface and select Help / Community Center. Each WMS module has its own section, with live and recorded training options. Some of these are for configuration, and some for daily staff activities. Knowledge base (KB) activities include selecting collections that match our database licenses, and deleting collections that we discontinue. Collection removal or substitution may also be initiated by vendors. A designated librarian will subscribe to a weekly (Monday morning) list of new collections. This rarely includes collections to which we subscribe, but should be scanned for familiar titles and open source additions.
We manage vendor settings for database access (use statistics, IP numbers for user authentication, OpenURL) through VIVA or directly on vendor customer portals. See the password-protected Database Vendors file below for details.
