WORLDCAT Catalog Search

When performing a simple search for a book in a subject area, do this:

  • Click on the "Advanced Search" link
  • Select "SUBJECT"
  • Type in a keyword such as "psychological theories" to see if there is a Library of Congress subject headings to match
  • Be sure to check the box for "Averett University Library" for our collections, and "Book" under format
  • Write a few Call Numbers down for the patron & tell he or she what floor (upper; lower) those books can be found on the shelves

*Note - A-HJ call number books are located on the Upper Floor. HM-Z call number books are located on the Lower Floor.

Another way to assist patrons in searching for book content is to click on the link for the Library of Congress Classification System on the Library Discover page.

Note - library student workers should not attempt to answer research-related questions even if they should know how to get an answer. Librarians are counting all of the research questions/encounters for statistical reporting.
